Dani Pedrosa took the championship lead after victory in at his home crowd at the Spanish Moto GP in Jerez.

Pedrosa who finished a very respectable second in last year’s championship, took the race lead early from the front of the grid and finished ahead of Valentino Rossi.

Britain’s James Toseland finished a promising 6th place in only his 2nd ever Moto GP race.
